Tourist Board Announces New Public Call for Subsidising Air Traffic

(Patria) - After record numbers arriving from Sarajevo International Airport and a 50% increase in tourist traffic, the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board has announced another Public Call for subsidising air traffic in the Sarajevo Canton area.

The aim of the public call is to develop tourism in the Sarajevo Canton area by subsidising airlines, establishing new destinations, increasing the number of passengers in air traffic, and strengthening the tourism sector.

The right to participate in the Public Call is held by individual airlines registered to provide air traffic services and which meet the Criteria for selecting applications and allocating funds:

- Airlines that decide to establish a base at Sarajevo International Airport

- Airlines that open new destinations for Sarajevo

- Airlines that introduce one or more strategic routes for Sarajevo, in accordance with the list of strategic routes defined by Sarajevo International Airport

- Airlines that introduce flights on existing strategic routes for Sarajevo, where currently 5 or fewer flights per week are established

- Airlines that introduce long-haul flights lasting over six hours for Sarajevo.

The application form can be downloaded from the websites of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board and Sarajevo International Airport, and the public call remains open until 01.10.2024.
