Tragedy in Albania: BiH citizen drowned in Durrës

(Patria) - A tragic accident occurred in the popular Albanian resort town of Durrës, in which a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina lost her life.

An eyewitness confirmed to NAP that the body was pulled from the sea.

As he told us, the sea was extremely rough, with large waves and a red flag indicating a swimming ban. Despite this, numerous bathers decided to enter the water.

The BiH citizen, whose identity has not yet been officially confirmed, was pulled from the sea after an accident. Those present tried to provide her with first aid, and an ambulance soon arrived, but the unfortunate woman died on the way to the hospital.

Local authorities are still investigating the circumstances of this tragic event. There is still no official information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.

The coasts in Durrës, especially on windy days, are known for strong currents and unpredictable waves. Although these are shallow and seemingly safe beaches, sudden changes in the depth and strength of sea currents often occur, which can endanger even experienced swimmers.

Experts have been warning for years about the need for stricter supervision measures and more information for tourists, especially when red flags are displayed.
