The Guardian ranks Bosnia and Herzegovina among Europe's most beautiful destinations

(Patria) - British newspaper The Guardian has published a list of European destinations characterized by untouched nature and stunning landscapes, and among them is Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In readers' reviews, the Ćiro Trail was particularly highlighted, a route that follows the former Dubrovnik – Mostar railway line, closed in the 1970s.

Reader Anna Fenton described her experience cycling through Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that she and her partner set off from Ivanica and followed the trail for more than 130 kilometers to Mostar. "It follows the route of the Dubrovnik – Mostar railway line, which was closed in the 1970s, and features many eerie tunnels full of bats. We barely met anyone on the route. One night we camped overnight in a pub beer garden because we were worried about mines. Stunning landscape, eerie history, and we also saw turtles on the trail," Fenton wrote.

The Guardian article emphasizes that Bosnia and Herzegovina offers a rare opportunity for adventure in nature in its purest form, far from mass tourism, which readers particularly highlighted as a value.

The same list also includes other European places that captivate with their beauty and tranquility, among them the Pyrenean village of Ochagavía in Spain, the remote islands of northern Germany, glaciers in Iceland, the hills of Brittany, Norway's Svalbard, and Lake Saimaa in eastern Finland.
