(Patria) - Negotiations between the Government and farmers from different parts of Serbia failed today, and after an unsuccessful meeting with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, protests are announced for tomorrow.
Tomorrow's farmers' protest will be organized as a protest drive. The idea is for farmers to stand by the roadside, without blockades, so as not to inconvenience citizens, writes Nova.rs.
Farmers announce that stronger measures will follow. Protests are being organized by farmers from Smederevo, Kragujevac, and Vojvodina.
These are the five basic demands of the farmers:
1. Subsidies of 300 euros per hectare;
2. That excise duty and VAT are not calculated on diesel fuel;
3. Subsidies of 40,000 dinars per cow;
4. To ensure the price of agricultural products, wheat, corn, soybeans, and others, as on the stock exchanges in Budapest and Paris; and
5. Higher premiums for milk.
