(Patria) - The Realme 240W charger currently holds the record for the fastest battery charging on a commercially available smartphone, and its even faster successor is now arriving.
After introducing the 240W fast charger in February 2023, Realme has opted for a new "technological breakthrough". This Chinese manufacturer has announced the premiere of its new 300W charger for August 14.
However, it is unlikely that we will see the new fast charger with any current phone, at least at this moment.
Redmi has also announced a similar innovation, stating that its new technology will enable a smartphone battery to be charged from 0 to 100% in less than five minutes.
Almost 18 months after its introduction, it is still unknown if and when such a charger will be commercially available with one of the devices of that Xiaomi sub-brand.
The Realme 240W charger currently holds the record for the fastest battery charging on a commercially available smartphone. This is the Realme GT Neo 5 model, the first to be launched in China with fast charging, and which was later introduced to international markets under the name Realme GT3, according to SmartLife.
The Chinese company then promised charging from 0 to 100% in less than 10 minutes, and tests of that phone showed that in practice there was not much deviation from that. Thus, in the test by GSM Arena, the battery was fully charged in 11 minutes and 16 seconds.
