Union consumer basket for November amounts to 2,954.80 KM

(Patria) - The union consumer basket calculated by the Union of Independent Trade Unions (SSS) of Bosnia and Herzegovina for November 2023 amounts to 2,954.80 KM.

The average salary paid in the Federation of BiH for September 2023 was 1,260.00 KM (the latest data published by the Federal Institute for Statistics).

The minimum salary according to the Decision of the Government of the FBiH is 596.00 KM.

Coverage of the Union consumer basket by the average salary is 42.64%. Coverage of the Union consumer basket by the minimum salary is 20.17%.

When creating the Union consumer basket, the average salary paid in the Federation of BiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum cost of living for a four-member family consisting of two adults and two children, one of whom is of secondary school age and the other of primary school age.

The consumer basket itself consists of the following categories (next to the name is the percentage share of each category in the union consumer basket):

1. Food 43.80%;

2. Housing and utilities 13.50%;

3. Hygiene and health maintenance 8.95%;

4. Education and culture 8.79%;

5. Clothing and footwear 13.54%;

6. Transport 4.67%;

7. Household maintenance 6.77%.

In the food category, prices from three retail centers for 86 items were used.

Regarding hygiene and health maintenance, costs for 10 items were included, and for housing and utilities, costs for six items were included.
