Union consumer basket for July amounts to 3,202 KM, average salary around 1,500 KM

(Patria) - The union consumer basket calculated by the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SSSBiH) for July 2025 amounts to 3,202.70 KM.

The average salary paid in the Federation of BiH for May 2025 amounted to 1,590 KM (the latest data published by the Federal Institute of Statistics), while the minimum salary according to the Decision of the Government of the FBiH is 1,000 KM.

The average net salary in the Republika Srpska in June amounted to 1,564 KM, according to data from the Republic Institute of Statistics of RS.

The coverage of the union consumer basket by the average salary is 49.64 percent, and by the minimum salary 31.22 percent.

When creating the union consumer basket, the average salary paid in the Federation of BiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum cost of living for a four-member family consisting of two adults and two children, one of whom is of secondary school age and the other of primary school age.

The consumer basket itself consists of: food - 45.35 percent, housing and utilities - 14.41 percent, hygiene and health maintenance - 9.65 percent, education and culture - 8.12 percent, clothing and footwear - 11.24 percent, transport - 4.99 percent, and household maintenance - 6.25 percent.

In the food category, prices from three retail centers for 86 items were used. Regarding hygiene and health maintenance, costs for 10 items were included, and for housing and utilities, costs for six items, the SSSBiH announced.
