(Patria) - The Seventh gatherings of the Islamic Community Youth Network in Bosnia and Herzegovina were ceremonially opened tonight in the Gazi Husrev-beg Library in Sarajevo, organized by the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH, the Administration for Religious Affairs, and the Department for Maktabs and Youth, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Mufti's Office.
The attendees were addressed by the envoy of the reisul-ulema, Dr. hfz. Mensur-ef. Malkić, director of the Administration for Religious Affairs, who officially opened these gatherings.
In his speech, Director Malkić emphasized the importance of education, morality, and upbringing, telling the youth to be a force that will contribute to the development of the community and the state with their knowledge and dedication.
He pointed out that the Islamic Community, through the Youth Network, creates a space for togetherness, friendships, and new opportunities, comparing it to a spider web that has been a protection and refuge throughout history.
– Be among those who will contribute to the development of society and the community through your quality education and knowledge – Malkić urged.
The Sarajevo Mufti, Prof. Dr. Nedžad-ef. Grabus, emphasized the importance of education, moral values, and strengthening Muslim identity.
The Mufti told the youth that, in the era of social networks and digital challenges, they need to be responsible and discerning.
– In a world of freedom and digital reality, you face great challenges, but also great opportunities. It is important to have mentors and teachers who open the paths of knowledge for you, so that you can make the right decisions – said Grabus.
He pointed out that education is not only about acquiring skills but also about shaping ethics, values, and ideals.
– I wish for you to be discerning like lions, who can be relied upon by those who need support and comfort – emphasized the Mufti.
The future of our homeland rests on the youth, their knowledge, faith, and love for the country they live in. Precisely for this reason, the theme of this year's gatherings is "Youth and Homeland: Building and Nurturing Values through Knowledge, Faith, and Culture".
– In principle, the theme of this year's gatherings is the homeland – nurturing love, responsibility, and attention towards history, culture, and heritage, and the program is designed to be both educational and inspiring. After the ceremonial opening, we will visit the cemeteries and martyrs' resting places, Kovači, the Alija Izetbegović Museum, the Emperor's Mosque, and the grave of Isa-beg Ishaković, while Sunday's program is more interactive, and participants will discuss motivational topics with guests and exchange suggestions for future gatherings – said Enes-ef. Svraka, head of the Department for Maktabs and Youth at the Administration for Religious Affairs of the Riyaset.
The Youth Network is a movement that develops through joint efforts, with mufti's offices having a special place.
The coordinator of the host, the Youth Network of the Sarajevo Mufti's Office, Medina Hurem, presented the vision of this continuous and noble project on this occasion.
The three-day gatherings have brought together a large number of young people. During the following days, they will stay in Sarajevo, where they will participate in a series of educational, cultural, and socially beneficial activities. The first one begins tomorrow morning, when the dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Sead Turčalo, will give the introductory lecture.
