(Patria) - The destruction of Bosnian-Herzegovinian cinematography, which the Association of Directors in Bosnia and Herzegovina has warned about, is just one of the consequences of the indolence and irresponsibility of the imposed government.
By reducing the budget allocated for cinematography, the ruling coalition has not only broken its own pre-election promises or endangered the existence of film workers but has also dealt a serious blow to Bosnian-Herzegovinian culture, consciously opening space for the spread of culture and unculture coming from neighboring countries, the Party of Democratic Action announced in its reaction.
"The decision of the 'Trojka' management of BH Telecom to shut down the BHContentLab project, which in the past period has proven to be a strong generator of television production development and which resulted in the realization of successful projects recognized in the region, only confirms the complete absence of social responsibility.
SDA calls on the imposed Government of FBiH to restore the budget allocated for cinematography to the level of previous years through a rebalance, to further increase it by allocating part of the funds for which the current government is irresponsibly borrowing, and to reactivate the BHContentLab project.
Culture is the foundation of a society's identity and its development. Regardless of the political or any other affinities of cultural workers, it must not be a victim of negligence, ignorance, or party interests of government representatives," they conclude.
