Union of Police Bodies Demands Urgent Adoption of Base Salary Calculation of 650 KM

(Patria) - Given that the draft budget for the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for this year has not yet been submitted for adoption, which includes adoption by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and finally both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Union of Police Bodies demands that the authorities show responsibility towards employees and urgently adopt the Decision on the amount of the base salary calculation for 2024 in the amount of 650.00 KM, which represents a salary increase for the determined amount of inflation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the previous year.

"The request for the adoption of the aforementioned Decision on the amount of the base salary was submitted to the Council of Ministers in September last year by the Union of Police Bodies in cooperation with the Union of Indirect Taxation Administration and the Union of Civil Servants and Employees in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and after the increase of the framework budget by an additional 40 million, an urgency was also sent.

Namely, considering inflationary trends and salary increases for employees at all levels of government, we call on the Council of Ministers to show responsibility towards employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to direct the additional funds in the amount of 40 million KM towards increasing the salaries and living standards of employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, we publicly call on the heads of all institutions and agencies who have received the letter from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, number: 05-16-2-5062-178/23 dated 31.01.2024, which requests them to analyze the previously submitted request for the 2024 budget, to align it with any new priorities, taking into account rational planning, and to submit the requested data to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina no later than February 12, that when responding to it, they do not request additional vehicles and additional material-technical resources, but that they themselves propose that the aforementioned funds in the amount of 40 million be used to increase the income of employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina", it was announced.
