Job Fair on October 6th and 7th in Sarajevo: Connecting Employers and Unemployed, and Dialogue on Labor Market Reforms

(Patria) - A meeting was held today at the FBiH Government building in Sarajevo, organized by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy together with the Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities and the Federal Employment Bureau.

The meeting was attended by representatives of cantonal ministries of education and economy, the Federal Ministry of Education, cantonal employment services, chambers of commerce, private employment agencies, and employer associations.

The main topic of the meeting was the organization of the Job Fair, which will be held on October 6th and 7th at the Hotel "Hills" in Sarajevo.

The goal of the fair is to connect employers and the unemployed, but also to initiate a broader dialogue on the challenges and reforms of the labor market. Employers already have the opportunity to advertise open positions for free through the application and web platform sajamposlova.fmrsp.gov.ba.

The Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, said that the fair is not just an opportunity for employment, but also for continuing an open dialogue.

"The Job Fair is a unique opportunity for employers and job seekers to meet face-to-face, but also for all of us to discuss the challenges of the labor market together. We in the Ministry are simultaneously working on amendments to key laws in the field of labor and employment, and through the fair, we want to ensure that all actors in this process gather once a year and exchange experiences and market needs," said Delić.

The Director of the Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, Ahmet Baljić, emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for the employment of persons with disabilities in the open labor market.

"The challenges of employment, as we see them, are huge, and the employment of persons with disabilities, in addition to all employment challenges, also faces the fact that their employment in the open labor market is unfortunately still avoided.

Unfortunately, the majority of them are still predominantly employed in sheltered workshops, and very few in the open labor market. The Fund currently has an open public call for new employment and for the sustainability of employment of persons with disabilities, and our goal is to improve processes every year and prevent fictitious employment," stated Baljić.

The Assistant Director of the Federal Employment Bureau, Senada Bibić, reminded that the Bureau plays a key role in implementing active employment policies.

"For this year, 100 million KM is planned for active employment policies, and just over 70 million has already been contracted. Employers are increasingly using these programs, and the Job Fair is an additional opportunity to present possibilities to both employers and unemployed persons, to make the employment process as easy and fast as possible," said Bibić.

The fair will be an opportunity for employers and unemployed persons to meet face-to-face, and all interested employers can already advertise their job openings through the online platform sajamposlova.fmrsp.gov.ba.

The application is being updated, and new, more advanced functionalities will be available this year.
