US produces the most oil daily in the world

(Patria) - The US produces an average of 12.9 million barrels of oil daily and leads the world producers' list for the sixth consecutive year, the Ministry of Energy announced.

In December 2023, crude oil production in the US reached a new monthly record, exceeding 13.3 million barrels per day, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) within the ministry, Hina reports.

"The US has consistently produced more crude oil than any other country for the past six years, according to our international energy statistics," the EIA announced today, adding that there is little chance that other countries will break this record anytime soon.

The government of Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, ordered the energy giant "Aramco" in January to suspend its plan to increase oil production and to target a maximum sustainable production capacity of 12 million barrels per day, one million barrels less than planned in 2020.

Saudi Arabia is the leading producer of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which, along with its allies, decided to reduce supply by 2.2 million barrels per day until the middle of the year to support prices during a period of weakening demand under pressure from slow economic growth.
