The Bosnian War deserves a film like Schindler's List

The war in Bosnia and Herzegovina deserves a great film, something like "Schindler's List" or "Hotel Rwanda," believes renowned American film critic Jon Lizi, reports the BH News Agency Patria (NAP). Lizi is a columnist for the most visited film criticism website Hollywood.com, and he made this claim in an article about the film "Venuto al Mondo," starring Penelope Cruz. The film was distributed in America under the title "Twice Born."

- The world should know more about the war in BiH, and considering that film is the most popular art form, a film about that tragedy would have the potential to enrich and enhance the lives of those who have never picked up a book. I imagine that such a film would achieve a historical effect like "Schindler's List" did for the Holocaust or "Hotel Rwanda" for the genocide in that country – Lizi stated. In his opinion, such a film would be taught in schools.

All of this, according to the critic, is not what the film starring Bosnian actor Adnan Hasković is. He praises the film's idea but criticizes its execution and direction, giving it a very low rating of 2. He literally begs the director Sergio Castellitto in the text to never make films like this again. He concludes that the potential of the story and circumstances was not utilized, and instead of a powerful war drama, the film looks like a cheap, sentimental lemonade.
