Number of registered motor vehicles increasing, passenger cars most numerous

(Patria) - In July 2025, 12,618 motor vehicles were registered for the first time, representing an increase of 10.9% in the number of newly registered motor vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina compared to the same month of the previous year.

Of the total number of newly registered vehicles, the most represented are: passenger cars (74.3%), motorcycles (6.1%), trucks (5.9%), mopeds (3.4%), trailers (2.7%), road tractors (1.2%), semi-trailers (1.1%), special vehicles (0.9%), while the smallest share belongs to newly registered buses (0.2%). The category 'other' accounts for 4.2% of registered motor vehicles compared to the total number of registered vehicles.

A total of 2,123 new motor vehicles were registered, representing an increase of 18.9% in the number of newly registered new motor vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina compared to the same month of the previous year. Of the total number of newly registered vehicles in July 2025, 16.8% are new vehicles.

In the period January – July 2025, a total of 12,000 new motor vehicles were registered, representing a growth of 7.0% compared to the same period of the previous year. If we consider newly registered new motor vehicles, passenger cars account for the highest percentage (46.4%). During July 2025, out of the total number of newly registered new vehicles, 56.9% of vehicles were registered by individuals. In the category of new passenger cars, cars using gasoline as fuel have the largest percentage share (49.5%).
