Opportunity for employers: 3.6 million KM for company development and new jobs for persons with disabilities in the Federation of BiH

(Patria) - The Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities of the Federation has issued a new Public Call that brings significant support to employers. Special emphasis is placed on programs that help companies grow and employ persons with disabilities of 60% or more – through investments in modern equipment, facilities and human resources.

What is available?

Lot II finances or co-finances the procurement of modern machinery, tools and raw materials needed to modernise and expand production. It is also possible to apply for the purchase or lease of new premises, their adaptation and renovation, and even for investments in energy efficiency such as solar panels or energy-saving heating and lighting systems.

“We want workplaces to be both modern and sustainable. When a company receives equipment that makes its work easier and faster, it simultaneously secures a better position for employing new workers with disabilities,” says Director Ahmet Baljić.

Conditions for employers

To be eligible to apply, companies and sheltered workshops must employ at least one new person with a disability using their own funds, on an indefinite-term contract. The maximum amount per program is 80,000 KM.

“In other words, besides supporting business growth, we insist that growth also means new jobs for those who need them most. That is the only way for society to move forward,” emphasises the Fund Director.

Applicants must prove that they operate without losses and debts, that they have used previous funds for their intended purpose, and submit a business plan and cost estimates for the planned activities.

“Our criteria are fair, and that is the only way to ensure that funds end up where they will make a real difference,” adds Baljić.

Why is this important?

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, persons with disabilities still face multiple barriers to employment, from architectural obstacles to employer prejudices. Lot II therefore holds special significance. Through this Lot, as well as through other programs, the Fund demonstrates that it is creating new jobs while also striving to change society’s awareness.

“Speaking from experience, when an employer hires a person with a disability and sees how valuable and capable they are, prejudices disappear. Our goal is precisely that – to show that the only real barrier is the one in people’s minds,” emphasises Baljić.

Applications for the Public Call are open for 30 days from the date of publication, specifically until 30 September, and all forms and detailed information are available on the website www.fond.ba.

Finally, the Fund Director sends an invitation to all employers.
