Presidency of BiH discusses Budget for institutions for 2023, what will happen with officials' salaries

(Patria) - The Presidency of BiH is expected to discuss the Proposal for the Budget of BiH institutions and international obligations of BiH for 2023 today.

The Chairwoman of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, confirmed earlier that the Budget Proposal had arrived at the Presidency and would be discussed at the session.

In the Budget Proposal, the base for salary calculation has been increased, and although the goal was to increase salaries for police officers, soldiers, and employees in institutions, due to the new calculation, salaries of elected and appointed officials will also increase by up to 1000 KM with the increase from last year.

Although there was a proposal to separate the calculation, i.e., to stop the salary increase for officials due to the increased coefficient, this did not happen.

By the Conclusion of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury is tasked with proposing a new systemic solution for the Law on Salaries and Benefits in BiH institutions, but it is very likely that increased salaries will be paid to officials.

After the Presidency of BiH adopts the Proposal, it is sent to the Parliamentary Assembly for adoption.
