A True Film About the War in BiH Must Be a Global Hit

Renowned American film critic Jon Lizi stated that the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina deserves a major film, something like "Schindler's List" or "Hotel Rwanda", reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP). Bosnian film director Ahmed Imamović said in this context for NAP that such a film can be made.

- If you want publicity, then you have to make a hit that will involve stars and high production. If we want it to reach the broad masses, to show the reality, then something like that would probably need to be done – Imamović told NAP.

Lizi said that more should be known about the war in BiH, and considering that film is the most popular art form, a film about that tragedy would have the potential to enrich and enhance the lives of those who have never picked up a book.

Imamović reiterated, as he has said before, that the mothers of Srebrenica should receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

- That is certain. Barack Obama received the Nobel Prize, perhaps this year Vladimir Putin will receive it as things are going, and the mothers of Srebrenica never have, and they should have long ago – says Imamović.

He did not talk much about his own activities, but he did talk about the 20th jubilee Sarajevo Film Festival, which will be held this year from August 15 to 23.

- I think it's a big deal. Great. It's growing, let it grow, and it's good as long as it's growing – said Imamović in a telephone conversation with NAP.
