Tax Administration of FBiH sold confiscated gold jewelry for 73,578 KM

(Patria) - The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH – Cantonal Tax Office Sarajevo, in the process of direct sale of confiscated precious metal jewelry, sold 1,369.87 grams of gold, or 580 pieces of jewelry, for a total value of 73,578.35 KM.

The sold jewelry will be handed over to the buyers once the Cantonal Tax Office Sarajevo – Sales Committee receives proof of payment of the achieved price to the prescribed account of the Budget of the Federation of BiH. The previous two sales of jewelry through public auction were unsuccessful, so a direct sale was organized in groups/subgroups and for all groups combined, without setting and announcing minimum prices and without requiring a deposit.

The sales commission, in accordance with the Decision of the Government of the Federation of BiH, previously determined the minimum prices for groups/subgroups and for all jewelry groups combined, which served as a measure in the process of evaluating submitted bids. Therefore, the sale was conducted based on the principle of the best offer with the highest price for each individual group/subgroup of jewelry.

In accordance with the Decision of the Government of the Federation of BiH, only natural persons – registered jewelers could participate in this sale. The remaining quantity of unsold jewelry amounts to 4,016.78 grams of gold and 2,777.96 grams of silver.

Given that the price of precious metal jewelry changes daily, offers that were not close to the prices set by the commission were rejected as unacceptable. The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH points out that the sales commission will adjust the value of the remaining confiscated gold and silver jewelry with the stock market price and the US dollar exchange rate, all with the aim of determining the best minimum prices below which the jewelry will not be sold.

In the coming period, the sales commission will make a decision on the resale of the remaining precious metal jewelry.
