Public Call Opened for Subsidizing Air Traffic in Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board has issued a public call for subsidizing air traffic in the Sarajevo Canton area for the purpose of tourism development. The goal of the public call is the development of tourism in the Sarajevo Canton area by subsidizing airlines, in order to establish new destinations, increase the number of passengers in air traffic, and strengthen the tourism sector.

Funds have been secured in the Budget of the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton under the item "Current transfer to the Tourist Board of KS for co-financing projects of significance for tourism development".

Individual airlines registered for providing air traffic services and meeting the criteria for selecting applications and allocating funds have the right to participate in this public call:

1. Airlines that decide to establish a base at Sarajevo International Airport,

2. Airlines that open new destinations for Sarajevo (destinations for which there have been no scheduled flights from Sarajevo International Airport by airlines during the 12 months prior to the date of the intended first flight),

3. Airlines that introduce one or more strategic routes for Sarajevo, in accordance with the list of strategic routes defined by Sarajevo International Airport,

4. Airlines that introduce flights on existing strategic routes to/from Sarajevo, which currently have five or fewer flights per week established,

5. Airlines that introduce long-haul flights lasting over six hours to Sarajevo.

The public call remains open until November 13, 2023.
