Around 500 children ran down Ferhadija Street

(Patria) - Ferhadija Street was filled with smiles and children's joy this morning as the Red Apple Market Bambini Marathon, intended for children aged 2 to 6, was held. The 210-meter track led from Ferhadija Mosque to Gaj Square, and the youngest participants had the opportunity to experience the charm of running through the capital's most famous promenade.

Around 500 children took their first running steps, cheered on by parents, friends, and numerous visitors who turned Ferhadija into a true sports stage.

"The Bambini Marathon is always a special moment of the Sarajevo Run Fest because it shows that the love for sports begins from the earliest years. The children's smiles and the parents' support are the best motivation for us to continue building a culture of running and friendship in our city," stated Elvedin Tunović, Executive Director of NGO Marathon.

This children's race confirmed the family spirit of the Sarajevo Run Fest, which brings together entire families and connects generations – from the youngest to experienced half-marathoners.

The Sarajevo Run Fest program continues on Sunday, September 21, when the Fitpass 5K, Intersport Fun Run, and Sarajevo Half Marathon races will be held on the streets of Sarajevo.

The organization of the Sarajevo Run Fest 2025 was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS, the City of Sarajevo, the KS Tourist Board, the KS Ministry of Transport, the KS Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.

The main sponsors of the event are Crvena jabuka, Intersport, Vivia, Sport Vision, and Powerade.
