Third Stojčevac 5K Charity Run Held, Nearly 15,000 BAM Raised for Three Associations

(Patria) - The third edition of the Stojčevac 5K charity run, organized by the Ilidža Municipality and held on Saturday at the well-known Ilidža picnic area, fully lived up to expectations and once again raised the bar in terms of organization.

Just as announced before the event, this year's edition surpassed last year's run in the number of participants, which had been record-breaking in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the number of runners.

The day-long sports and entertainment program began at 10 a.m. with "Family Day," which featured numerous free activities for the youngest. In addition to various sports courses, children could learn how to provide first aid, draw, socialize with mascots of favorite characters, and even get their faces painted.

After the race, all participants, regardless of their placement, had only words of praise for the sports event held in the unique setting of Stojčevac and Velika Aleja, which has already earned a special place among runners in our country. Unlike previous races, this year's run took place on a new, asphalted, and well-maintained surface.

The race, whose technical organizer was the Public Institution Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center Ilidža, attracted over 700 participants this year. The fastest runner was Emir Hastor (15:56). Alen Memić came second (16:50), while third place went to Ibrahim Zubača (17:23).

Nedim Efendić crossed the finish line fourth. Efendić was also the fastest Ilidža resident, while Amina Hurić earned the title of fastest female Ilidža resident.

The fastest woman was Alma Hrnjić with a time of 18:59. Edina Harbinja was second (20:51), and third place went to Merjema Šuman (21:40). Dahila Jašarević was fourth.

The oldest male participant was Hazim Kukuruzović, and the oldest female was Marijana Alambašić. Emina Kanlić (2015) and Adin Mujezinović (2016) were the youngest participants in the third edition of the Stojčevac 5K charity run.

Friends of the charity run provided valuable and interesting prizes for everyone, while the entire amount from the paid entry fees went to charitable causes.

A voucher worth 6,000 BAM was presented by the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, who was also among the runners, to the Association Heart for Children with Cancer. Members of the Swimming Club Spid received a voucher of 5,000 BAM, while the Ilidža Pensioners' Association received a voucher worth 3,800 BAM.

"I believe we managed to surpass the inaugural edition of the Stojčevac 5K charity run and also offer additional day-long content for all generations. The number of runners and visitors obliges us to be even better next year, God willing, with some new content. I am especially pleased that 'Family Day' brought together a large number of children and their parents, and that they could enjoy all the activities for free," said the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, thanking the race's friends, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to making this year's race top-notch.

Finally, he emphasized that the race will continue to have a charitable character in the future, and the day-long activities will be on the program again next summer.

After the race, all visitors to Stojčevac could enjoy an interesting music program by DJ Mahir Beathouse.
