New barricades in northern Kosovo, Vučić furious at the international community

(Patria) - Instead of removing the barricades, a new barricade was erected this morning in Bošnjačka mahala in the form of loaded trucks blocking movement. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić held a press conference today with Patriarch Porfirije, who was denied entry to Kosovo yesterday.  

"Yesterday's ban on His Holiness's entry and the prevention of him going to the Patriarchate of Peć best speaks to those who carried it out, and they are only partially the authorities in Priština. Those who announced they would condemn it, did so in a way that embarrassed me. It is one of the greatest shames they could inflict upon themselves, not us," said the Serbian President.

Vučić said that the barricades are an act of protest, and that they condemn it.

"And where in the world can it happen that a church leader is banned from moving? Why is someone so hysterically demanding the removal of barricades? So that Serbs can be expelled from the north of Kosovo. Only Serbs use those roads, Albanians do not use them. Why the rush, as if we put them there? What do you actually want?" says Vučić.

Vučić said that they hold daily talks with representatives of the international community.

"They are difficult, but we must have them. Serbs did not go to the barricades because they felt like it. Those who, together with NATO countries, trampled on Serbia's sovereignty, trampled on UN resolutions, the Kumanovo Agreement, dared to talk about some territorial integrity, and are still telling you that your time is running out," said Vučić.

Vučić reiterated that Serbs went to the barricades because they were told that the ZSO would be formed 10 years ago, and that they could not participate in a referendum, but would be able to participate in elections.

"Then they raid election commissions, arrest people. They arrested Pantić on charges of being a war criminal, and he wasn't one while he was a police officer. Let Pantić be treated, let him be under house arrest or at least be in Kosovska Mitrovica, and we demand that what was signed back in 2013 be respected," said Vučić.

He said that they are in constant contact with the international community.

"We are talking with Miroslav Lajčak and Gabriel Escobar, and we are trying in every way to preserve peace. We will continue to seek compromise solutions wherever we see even the smallest window. I will go everywhere to talk with our people as well. Whether we will succeed in this does not depend on us," stated Vučić.

Vučić says that even when they had a crisis in June, he said that the way they want to crush them shows that they should have no doubt that this will continue.

"Because you see that there is someone who does not want to talk at all. What is the goal of destroying Serbs other than the suffering and expulsion of Serbs? But even if we succeed and get out of this, and I know how much everyone is praying for it, there will be something new in 15 days. Because their goal is to expel Serbia from Kosovo and Metohija and expel everything that is disobedient to them, and that is why all these arrests," said Vučić.
