NIS operated with a loss of over 90 million KM in 2025

(Patria) - Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) operated with a loss of 5.6 billion dinars (over 90 million KM) in 2025, the company announced on its website today.

"NIS Group in 2025, despite extremely complex business conditions, managed to maintain the regular supply of petroleum products to the domestic market and preserve the social stability of its employees.

However, complex circumstances, primarily operating under the sanctions of the US Department of the Treasury, had a significant impact on NIS's financial and operational results," the business report states.

The business results last year were also affected by lower oil prices, as the average Brent crude oil price was $69.1 per barrel, which is 14 percent lower compared to 2024.

In addition, the results were influenced by expensive oil inventories, the negative impact of the asset impairment accounting effect in Bulgaria and Romania, as well as the results of HIP-Petrohemija, which recorded a loss of 10.27 billion dinars in 2025.

"Under such operating conditions, NIS Group managed to maintain the EBITDA indicator at a positive level of 22.2 billion dinars, while 28.1 billion dinars were invested in development projects in all business areas.

In addition to oil and gas exploration and production, the development of the retail network in Serbia continued, as well as the program of building solar power plants at the company's facilities," the report states.

The calculated obligations for taxes and other public revenues of NIS Group last year amount to 207 billion dinars, while 4.6 billion dinars were paid out as gross dividends for 2024.

It is emphasized that bank debt was reduced by 29 percent compared to 2024 and, as of December 31, 2025, amounts to 396.3 million euros. These unfavorable circumstances led NIS Group to record a loss of 5.6 billion dinars in 2025.

It is added that, regarding operational indicators, 1.124 million conditional tons of oil and gas were produced in 2025, while the total volume of crude oil and semi-finished product processing amounts to 3.095 million tons. The total turnover of petroleum products is 3.023 million tons.

"In 2025, NIS continued to support socially responsible projects and invest in the well-being of the community, especially its youngest members.

Within the 'Community Together' social responsibility program cycle for 2025, 24 projects were selected in 13 partner cities and municipalities across Serbia, for which NIS allocated 144.5 million dinars," NIS stated.
