(Patria) - Streaming giant Netflix has once again increased the prices of its services, for the second time since January 2025, which will further burden the budgets of users worldwide.
The company announced on Thursday that all subscriptions will increase by at least one dollar per month. The cheapest plan, which includes ads, will now cost $8.99 instead of the previous $7.99. The standard plan will increase by two dollars and will henceforth cost $19.99 per month, while the premium subscription will reach a price of $26.99.
Netflix confirmed that the price increases for existing users will take effect in the coming weeks, with notification via email at least one month in advance. New users, however, will pay higher prices immediately.
Our approach remains the same, we offer different plans to meet the different needs of users. As we continue to improve content and viewing experience, we are adjusting prices so we can further invest in quality entertainment - the company spokesperson stated.
We remind you that Netflix recently considered acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery studios, but withdrew its offer in February after Paramount, owned by Skydance, submitted a more favorable offer which the Warner board of directors deemed more acceptable.
The increasingly frequent price increases of streaming services, along with the growing number of sports content behind subscription walls, indicate a trend of rising costs for end-users.
