(Patria) - A cliff house on the Canadian island of Quadra in British Columbia is a stunning example of modern architecture that seeks to blend into the environment, reports Punkufer.
Iranian architect Milad Eshtiyaghi was tasked with designing a gravity-defying mountain house for a family - specifically, on an elevated site where four old trees were planted.
Since he did not want to cut them down or move them, he placed the house in the space between the trees.
The final result? A mountain house composed of a series of seemingly intertwined glass blocks with passages going up, down - and sideways, offering stunning views of the surroundings.
The glass walls can be opened with a mechanical cable system, transforming the interior into a semi-open terrace and allowing fresh mountain air to enter.
The house is divided into three levels according to the client's needs - one level is reserved for the parents, the second for the son and his wife, and these two levels are connected by a recreational sports area.
