SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On Tuesday at 7 PM in Podgorica, new protests will begin by citizens dissatisfied with the state of the country led by pro-Serbian and pro-Russian forces of the Democratic Front and the URA Civic Movement of Dritan Abazović.
Citizens on social networks are saying that a column of cars will start from Krsto Zrnov Popović near Plantaže 13. July and continue through the streets of Podgorica.
“All together to make the streets of Podgorica red,” states a post by a group of citizens.
Earlier, the movement “We are here” announced protests at 7 PM.
Montenegro has been in a continuous crisis since the parliamentary elections in 2020, when, thanks to a single mandate from Abazović's URA, a government that many consider anti-Montenegrin and loyal to Belgrade and Moscow was formed. This government was first led by Zdravko Krivokapić, and then by Dritan Abazović himself. The situation recently culminated with the adoption of the Law on the President of the neighboring country, which sparked protests from both opposition politicians and citizens.
The situation at the Parliament of Montenegro was then on the verge of escalation, but everything ended peacefully.
