The next generation of the Cayenne will be a fully electric vehicle

(Patria) - Porsche is preparing to launch the fourth generation of the Cayenne, which will be released for sale as a fully electric vehicle in the next few years.

The company says that, in addition to the driving characteristics for which the brand is known, the electric Cayenne aims for "high capacity and stable charging, high efficiency, and a high level of comfort and everyday usability."

After an "extended phase" of digital testing and tests at Porsche's proving ground in Weissach, test prototypes of the Cayenne EV have hit the roads worldwide.

By the time the new Cayenne is launched, it will have covered millions of kilometers in various conditions.

According to Porsche's photos, the Cayenne EV looks slightly larger than the current model, but with similar proportions.

Porsche plans for more than 80 percent of its models to be electric vehicles by 2030, but this will depend on customer demand and infrastructure in different markets.

Porsche will continue to sell the existing third-generation Cayenne alongside the electric one, at least until 2030, to cater to those customers who still want an internal combustion engine.
