Play "Six Against Turkey" performed at the National Theatre of Sarajevo

(Patria) - The play "Six Against Turkey", by Jeton Neziraj, directed by Blerta Neziraj, was performed tonight at the National Theatre of Sarajevo as part of the special program "Regional Theatre".

The play was created through an international co-production between Qendra Multimedia (Kosovo) and Gerçek Tiyatrosu (Turkey), in collaboration with My Balkans (USA/Serbia), with financial support from the European Union through the "Culture Moves Europe" grant.

Adrian Morina, Ernest Malazogu, Shpetim Selmani, Verona Koxha, Albina Krasniqi, and Don Shala were met with thunderous applause and ovations from the Sarajevo audience.

Author Jeton Neziraj stated that the "National Theatre has proven that Sarajevo is a free city", emphasizing the importance of cultural pluralism and diverse ideas in the development of democracy.

"With this performance, the National Theatre of Sarajevo confirms its role as a media space, open to critical examination of social circumstances and the times we live in", it was announced from the theatre.

Tonight's performance at the main theatre house in Bosnia and Herzegovina marked the closing of the first part of the "Regional Theatre" program, which featured guest performances from Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Kosovo.

The Sarajevo audience can look forward to the continuation of the program on Friday, May 30, when SNG Ljubljana (Slovenia) will perform the play "Cyrano de Bergerac".
