On the outskirts of Melbourne, there is a hotel that is actually a model

Fortunately, you come across a hotel in the middle of nowhere, and you thank your lucky stars that you will finally be able to stretch out and get a good night's sleep.

And then, as you approach the unusual building, you realize something is not right – the hotel is, in fact, fake, writes Punkufer.



The EastLink Hotel is actually a sculpture located on the outskirts of Melbourne, designed to look like a real hotel.

The large model of the hotel, which cost 744,000 euros to build, was designed by Canadian artist Callum Morton and presented to the world in 2007.

Since then, it has confused many people who have tried to book accommodation or enter it...



The EastLink website still receives inquiries about room prices, availability, and parking information. Describing the concept behind the design, Morton wanted passers-by to see EastLink as a real hotel or as a prop that was "wiped out" from a theme park or a movie set.

The giant folly, as Morton affectionately calls it, has a purely decorative function.

EastLink is 20 meters high and is built from steel, concrete, and glass panels. When night falls, some of the windows light up, making the whole story even more interesting.
