Minister Bećirović: We have put Tuzla Airport back on the map of international air connections

(Patria) - From December 18, Tuzla will be connected to Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and, for the first time, Turkey! Thanks to months of dedicated work by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Transport of Tuzla Canton, led by Minister Denis Bećirović, as well as the engagement of the Airport management and the Government of Tuzla Canton, a contract has been signed with the Greek airline - Lumiwings. 

"Through joint efforts, we have put Tuzla Airport back on the map of international air connections. By signing the Contract, we have taken an important step towards strengthening connectivity between Tuzla Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina with key destinations, which further has a positive impact on tourism, trade and economic development of the entire region," says Minister Bećirović. 

The Government of Tuzla Canton has allocated an amount of two and a half million KM as key support for this significant project. 

"Tuzla International Airport and its further development are a strategic element and project of the Ministry and the Government of Tuzla Canton, and an indispensable segment of all strategic documents and development plans of the Canton, and we have dedicated ourselves to it as such," says Bećirović. 

The management of Lumiwings optimistically predicts a positive response from passengers to the newly established flights. They are particularly confident that these flights will stimulate renewed interest from the diaspora, thereby significantly contributing to the ultimate success of this project. They are aware that the engagement of the diaspora plays a key role in the sustainability and prosperity of air routes, and are committed to creating an attractive and competitive offer that will attract a wide range of passengers. 

"The Ministry and the management of Tuzla Airport will continue to create a stimulating environment for the expansion of air routes, encompassing new attractive and interesting destinations, both in Europe and around the world," concluded Minister Bećirović.
