International Tourism Fair in Sarajevo from April 25 to 27

(Patria) - After a multi-year break, the international tourism fair “Sarajevo Destination Festival” will be held in Sarajevo from April 25 to 27, 2024, and the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board is an active participant and organizer of gatherings of tourist boards and the entire tourism industry, including the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), with the aim of promoting individual tourist destinations of countries in the region, the Balkans and Europe, as well as the world. During the tourism festival, Sarajevo will be a place for connecting regional tourism partners, organizations, and a platform for direct connection between travel agencies, companies, and end-users – travelers/tourists.

“This year too, we are actively participating in fair promotions in our country, Europe, and the world, and we plan to present at about 25 tourism fairs. Already at the beginning of the year, we promoted tourism potentials at tourism fairs in more than ten regional and world metropolises. In addition to the increased number of fair presentations, we are also working on improving fair promotion, so this year we will have the largest stand, of 145 m2, with as many as 23 co-exhibitors in Dubai,” said Haris Fazlagić, president of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.

He emphasized that we are investing more and expecting a better summer tourist season.

“In order to promote and create a more attractive tourist destination for the upcoming summer tourist season as best as possible, we plan greater investments and expect better results compared to all previous years. For years, we have been a proud partner of the Sarajevo Film Festival – a film brand that brings world stars and numerous tourists to Sarajevo every year, and in which we will invest more this year, to make the 30th edition of SFF as memorable and successful as possible,” Fazlagić stated.

The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, along with numerous events and projects, also supports the spectacular Red Bull Showrun, which arrives in Sarajevo on June 9. We represent a world event that provides a great opportunity for tens of thousands of people to see the F1 car of the champion team Red Bull Racing live and in action as it drives through the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus strengthening Sarajevo as a tourist destination.

The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board has started 2024 exceptionally dynamically, following the concept and form with which the very successful 2023 ended. Statistically speaking, 2023 is the most successful year, recording the highest number of arrivals and overnight stays compared to all previous years. At the beginning of this year, the trend of tourism growth continued, which during the first two months shows an increase of over 17% in tourist arrivals and 31% in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.

We are proud of the fact that Sarajevo Canton is becoming an increasingly recognizable destination in the world, which is very often written about by global media. In several international magazines, as well as by reputable world journalists, Sarajevo has been recommended among several capitals to visit, described as a hub of castles on the European list, and among other things, suggested as a perfect place to explore in 2024.
