Magoda: Salaries for workers of five cultural institutions in BiH paid in full for 2025

(Patria) - The Law on Temporary Co-financing of Cultural and Educational Institutions, founded by BiH, for 2025 has been fully implemented.

Employees of state cultural institutions have been paid all outstanding salaries until the end of the year.

This secured gross monthly allowances in the amount of approximately 2,000 KM per employee, which include salary, taxes, hot meal, and transportation costs.

The Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, says he is proud that this act has enabled dignified work and a secure livelihood for workers in cultural institutions.

- I am proud that, as the Minister of Culture and Sports of KS, I have enacted a special lex specialis by which every worker in BiH cultural institutions has been secured 12 months of salary, with all contributions paid, as well as health and social insurance - Magoda said.

He explains that on an annual level, this amounts to more than 1.6 million KM, and adds that today's payment of all salaries for 2025 confirms that the law that was passed is functioning.

- Dignity of work, security of life, stability of the system. Today, when the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of BiH, the Historical Museum of BiH, the Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired of BiH, the Art Gallery of BiH, and the Kinoteka of BiH are operating stably, with secured salaries and clear plans, this is not a coincidence. It is proof that the law we passed is yielding results - Magoda emphasizes.

He stresses that this is a victory of culture over improvisation.

- This is a victory of work over populism. A victory of institutions over decay. These institutions are not just buildings; they are guardians of memory, identity, and the cultural-historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They are the line of defense against oblivion, and as long as I am responsible for this sector, that line will not fall. We continue calmly, responsibly, and with pride, because culture is not saved by promises; it is preserved by deeds - Magoda concluded.
