Lendo on the shooting in Lukavac elementary school: The final alarm for urgent action by competent institutions

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The attack by a former student of "Lukavac grad" Elementary School with firearms on teacher Nedim Osmanović is the final alarm for urgent action by all institutions responsible for preventing such cases, announced the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Refik Lendo.

"It is evident that coordinated systemic activity of security, educational, and all other institutions that can contribute to improving the security situation is necessary through redefining criminal policy, stricter control of firearm possession and use, and, most importantly, adequate engagement of educational institutions, social services, and families as the basic cells of society.

The problem of violence in schools is a challenge faced by a large part of humanity, and it is necessary to apply all positive practices that have yielded results in preventing such cases.

What is most important at this moment is that the injured teacher Nedim Osmanović recovers successfully. My thoughts are with him and his family," Lendo said.
