(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced after Christmas that he will hold a meeting with KFOR to resolve the situation with the barricades in northern Kosovo, which were set up 17 days ago.
"This cannot last for weeks, it cannot last for months. This can last for days, and now we are already approaching the New Year, and I believe the barricades are harmful, wrong, and at the same time bring back bitter experiences and memories from 30 years ago," Kurti said in an interview with Istraga.ba.
He emphasized that after the talks with KFOR, he will make decisions on what steps to take.
When asked whether the barricades can be removed without incidents, the Kosovo Prime Minister stated that "from our side, they can."
"That other side is unknown to us; those people are in uniforms, and we do not know how they will react when our police approach. But I know they receive some directions from Belgrade daily. As people change there, it is clear that it does not come autonomously, authentically from the citizens themselves, but these are paramilitary formations that have their own structure and orders," Kurti said.
The barricades (in northern Kosovo) bring back bitter experiences from the nineties. The people on the barricades are armed. On the barricades, there are paramilitary formations that have their own structure and orders," said the Kosovo Prime Minister in an interview for @IstragaB @okanalba and @Oslobodjenjeba @albinkurti pic.twitter.com/WjcDkUG4Rv
