Criticism of Komšić, but not the Croatian Ambassador, Proves Schmidt Was Lobbied: The Fact Is – You Made HDZ Indispensable

Christian Schmidt, the High Representative in BiH, during his guest appearance on BHT, also commented on the Report of the BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić and, as expected, was critical of what Komšić said. Interestingly, he concluded that one should not talk about someone's views or positions at the UN, but exclusively present facts.

In that context, if he were objective, Schmidt should have also addressed the statement of the Croatian Ambassador, who presented his view that Komšić is not legitimate and legal, which is of course not true, because Komšić was elected in accordance with the Election Law of BiH and the Constitution of BiH, but rather it reflects the stance of Croatia, which has had the same pattern of behavior towards BiH for years.

Although this behavior is often presented as friendly, it is far from the truth, because meddling in internal affairs and not recognizing the legally elected president of the state of BiH cannot be described as friendly.

And, unlike the Croatian Ambassador, to whom Zlatko Lagumdžija also responded, Komšić spoke precisely with facts, and not personal opinions.

And the very fact that Schmidt criticized Komšić, and not the Croatian Ambassador, proves that Schmidt was lobbied by the neighbors, which was not hidden by the Croatian Government, and which, in turn, has never faced serious criticism from Brussels or Western countries!

And so, when asked if his decision to suspend the BiH Constitution for 24 hours was lobbied by Croatia and Andrej Plenković, Schmidt replied:

"I would not like to be involved in some internal politics and campaigns, but I make my decisions myself. Some are satisfied, some are not, but in the long run, everyone should accept them. My job is to fix something that doesn't work."

And, we will remind Schmidt that he once complained about the "unbearable" pressure from the Republic of Croatia regarding this issue, but it seems the pressure has subsided, of course, the concession came with the imposition of the Election Law which enabled HDZ BiH, but also Croatia, to persist in their intentions.

Such a shameless distortion of facts is characteristic of a German who, since arriving in BiH, has been portraying milk as black, and goes so far in his deceptions that he presents the suspension of the Constitution as a democratic expression of someone's will!

Because it is also a fact that Schmidt remained immune to the claims of legal experts and the Vice-President of the FBiH that Čavara "discredited and further complicated the process of appointing the missing judges of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of BiH".

We remind you that Čavara completely ignored Article IV.C.2.6.(2) of the Constitution of the Federation of BiH, which explicitly prescribes the procedure for appointing judges of the Constitutional Court of the FBiH.

But, Schmidt characterized Čavara's move as cooperative!?

Christian Schmidt sent Marinko Čavara secret, but also public signals regarding the unblocking of the Constitutional Court of the FBiH, which Schmidt ultimately used as an excuse for imposing the Election Law.

That was the wrong move, because it turned out that the blockades, which HDZ had carried out for years, were a legitimate tool in achieving political goals, even those that lead to the permanent ethnic division of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the introduction of discrimination.

So, those are the facts, Mr. Schmidt, because if you had not imposed amendments to the Constitution of the FBiH and the Election Law, HDZ BiH would not be a necessary partner in the Government of the Federation of BiH today, because after Schmidt raised the number of delegates to 23, and set 11 signatures as a prerequisite for the election of the President of the Federation of BiH, the story of forming a government without HDZ BiH and Dragan Čović is no longer realistic.

And we can expect new impositions when even that is not enough for HDZ's participation in power!
