(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković was in Gothenburg, Kingdom of Sweden, where he participated in the first Bosnia and Herzegovina – Nordic Forum.
The Forum gathered more than 200 participants, including representatives of the Bosnian community from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany and other European countries. The event was dedicated to strengthening ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora, promoting investments, education, scientific cooperation, democratization of society, and preserving Bosnian identity and culture.
Minister Konaković took part in the ceremonial opening of the Forum, where he addressed those present and expressed satisfaction at having the opportunity to participate in an event that brings together successful Bosnians and Herzegovinians from all over Scandinavia.
In his address, he stated that the diaspora in Nordic countries represents an exemplary combination of success, integration and unwavering commitment to the homeland. He emphasized that gathering in this format testifies that Bosnia and Herzegovina has educated, responsible and connected people who, regardless of their place of residence, remain dedicated to its progress. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, he added, will continue to support initiatives that strengthen ties among citizens and promote the reputation of our country on the international stage.
The Minister expressed hope that the BiH – Nordic Forum will not remain a one-time event, but will become the foundation of a tradition of gathering the Bosnian diaspora around the world. Following the example of this format, similar initiatives should be organized in other countries where citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina live. Cooperation, trust and unity were highlighted as values on which a modern, European-oriented Bosnia and Herzegovina should be built.
During the Forum, possibilities for investment and cooperation in the economy, IT sector, energy, innovation, healthcare, start-up projects, as well as strengthening cultural, educational and research ties were discussed. Special focus was placed on young people, students and experts who represent a bridge between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Nordic countries.
Active support for the organization of the Forum was provided by the embassies of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Berlin, with the presence and participation of ambassadors from the mentioned countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
