Komšić and Bećirović supported the 2025 Budget due to 22,500 employees in BiH institutions

(Patria) - Regarding the adoption of the Bill on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations for 2025, the Cabinet of the BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić and member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović emphasized that they voted for the adoption of the budget so that 22,500 employees in state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with their families, would not be hostages to political bickering.

"All amendments by BiH Presidency Chairman Komšić and BiH Presidency member Bećirović were accepted, which included: increasing the budget for the needs of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, securing funds for the Central Election Commission to hold elections, and removing transfers to entities from the funds of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as such allocation was contrary to the law.

Compared to the initial Draft Law on the Budget of BiH that the Council of Ministers of BiH submitted to the Presidency of BiH in April 2025, the new Draft resolved a series of unacceptable solutions, including the attempt to transfer obligations from the 'Viaduct' case ruling to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By adopting this budget, the unimpeded functioning of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been ensured, and key legal and constitutional obligations have been fulfilled," it was stated in a joint statement.
