The state-owned Chinese news agency Xinhua and the News Agency Patria signed a cooperation agreement today, which includes the exchange of news and photos between the two agencies. The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Patria agency in Sarajevo by the head of the Xinhua representation in Sarajevo, Yuan Liang, and the director of the Patria agency, Amra Varatanović.
Xinhua News Agency is the official news agency of the People's Republic of China and the largest information gathering center in China. It is also the largest news agency in China.
Xinhua employs more than 20,000 people, operates in about 170 countries worldwide with more than 200 representations, and has 31 offices in China alone - one for each province. Xinhua is also the publisher of more than 20 newspapers and a dozen magazines published in eight languages: Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese, Arabic, and Japanese.
Patria Agency is a media service founded in Sarajevo in February 2014. It cooperates with media outlets from the country and the region.
