(Patria) - Kerim Alajbegović could continue his career at Roma, reports the Italian Corriere dello Sport this morning. According to this newspaper, the 18-year-old footballer has accepted the offer from the Roman club, and negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen are now underway.

The Italians write that Alajbegović sees Roma as the ideal environment for further development, especially under the leadership of Gian Piero Gasperini.

“Intermediaries are at work, in constant contact, and above all, Kerim has already expressed his desire. He loves Roma and sees Trigoria as the ideal place for his growth and progress under Gasperini’s guidance,” states Corriere dello Sport.

It is added that Roma, unlike other interested clubs, would guarantee the young footballer a place in the starting lineup.

“The player’s ‘yes’ has arrived: the contract has been accepted, and the salary will increase from season to season,” writes the Italian newspaper.

However, the deal is not yet done, as the Roman club must now reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen, while contacts between intermediaries and the German club have already been established.

Alajbegović has attracted the attention of numerous Italian clubs in recent months, and according to media reports, Roma, Napoli, Milan, and several other European teams were interested in his signature.

The young footballer had an excellent season in the Salzburg jersey. So far this season, he has played 42 matches, scored 12 goals, and provided four assists.

He was in the starting lineup in 70 percent of the matches, played 66 percent of the possible minutes during the season, and spent all 90 minutes on the field nine times.
