(Patria) - In many parts of Bangladesh, especially in densely populated areas like Dhaka, Chittagong and Mymensingh, trains are always overcrowded.
The situation worsens during holidays when millions of people try to get home at the same time, creating additional crowds, reports Punkufer.
Not only are people crammed inside the carriages, but they also hang from doors and climb out through windows, while the braver ones choose to spend the journey home sitting or standing on the train roof, which is extremely dangerous.
Due to limited railway capacity and high demand, some passengers also opt for dangerous rides on the outside parts of the carriages. It is most dangerous when crossing bridges or passing near power lines.
Such surreal scenes could be seen a few days ago. Thousands of worshippers crammed into and onto trains in an attempt to return home for Eid al-Adha.
