(Patria) - A hut built on the summit of Italy's Mount Foronon del Buinz serves as an overnight shelter for those brave and skilled enough to climb to 2,531 metres above sea level.
The mountain refuge was built in memory of Italian mountaineer Luca Vuerich, who tragically died in an avalanche in 2010, reports Punkufer.hr.
It was designed by architect Giovanni Pesamosca from Udine, and the building materials were delivered by helicopter.
During harsh winters, the hut provides a safe haven in the quiet nature with one of the most beautiful views in the world.
Thanks to a skilled team of 12 volunteers, it was built in just one day.
It is designed like a small church with a sloping roof, which prevents snow from blocking the entrance.
