PROVOKED CONFLICT OR CREATIVE CHAOS: Is the 'fuss' in Kosovo assistance for Vučić or an international action to form the CSM?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Serbian President and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić signed an order to raise the combat readiness of the Serbian Army units to the highest level, and ordered their immediate movement towards the border with Kosovo, Novosti has learned.

Vučić, as reported by Serbian media, decided on this move due to the "violence that Albin Kurti's special police are carrying out against the Serbian people in Zvečan, Zubin Potok, and Leposavić." He also demanded that NATO immediately stop the violence against Serbs.

Serbian Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević said that the situation in Kosovo is dramatic, as warned by Vučić, and that Pristina is rushing towards escalation, reports Kosovo online.

- A few minutes ago, the president issued an order to the army to raise combat readiness to the highest level. The army has begun its activities, what Kurti is doing is leading us to red lines, this is no longer a game, this endangers the safety of all people living in these areas. We will carry out the order of the supreme commander and do what is expected of the Serbian Army - said Vučević.

He told Serbs in Kosovo to remain calm.

- I tell them not to fall for provocations, for scenarios in which they would be portrayed as criminals. Terror against the Serbian community is underway. It is important to remain calm, and at the same time defend our rights and freedoms - said Vučević.

The police previously announced that they are "helping the mayors of the northern municipalities of Zvečan, Leposavić, and Zubin Potok to exercise their right to work - in the official premises of these municipalities.".

The newly elected mayors of Zvečan, Leposavić, and Zubin Potok took their oaths on May 25, taking over local government in these three municipalities with a Serbian majority in northern Kosovo.

They took office in public buildings because the Provisional Municipal Bodies, which operate within Serbia's system, are located in the municipal buildings.

Videos are circulating on social networks showing clashes between Serbs and the Kosovo police, and gunfire can also be heard. A Kosovo police car was also set on fire.

The only question is whether this is a provoked incident that would help Vučić domestically after mass demonstrations and during protests he is personally leading on the streets of Serbia today. At the same time, the events in northern Kosovo can also be linked to pressure on Kurti to agree to the so-called Community of Serbian Municipalities, which Washington and Brussels advocate for.
