(Patria) - Meta announced the arrival of a special Instagram application for televisions, and the first devices to get this capability are Amazon Fire TV models.
The new application, called Instagram for TV, is primarily focused on Reels video content, which users will be able to watch directly on their televisions using a remote control. In doing so, Instagram is taking another step towards approximating the classic TV experience and competing with platforms like YouTube.
The application is currently available to users in the United States, on selected Fire TV devices, including Fire TV Stick models, Fire TV 2-Series, 4-Series, and Omni QLED televisions. According to available information, the content will be organized into thematic channels based on user interests, and it will also be possible to log in to multiple Instagram accounts on a single device.
Users will be able to search for creators, view comments, and react to videos directly from the TV screen.
There is no official information yet about the expansion of the application to other platforms or markets, reports b92.
