Ilidža gets another modern sports and recreation center

(Patria) - Work on the "Emil Gavranović - Beban" Sports and Recreation Center in the Ilidža settlement of Butmir is slowly coming to an end.



Lighting installation is underway, after which the placement of furniture and gym equipment will follow.

- I am happy that the major works on the "Emil Gavranović - Beban" Sports and Recreation Center are completed and that we only have a few details left to complete its appearance - said the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur.



With some minor additions and details, the appearance of a place that has been missing for years for the younger residents of the Butmir Local Community should be completed.

- We, just like the children in Butmir, are eagerly awaiting the opening of this sports and recreation facility where the younger and older generations will be able to play and recreate safely and carefree - said Muzur.



The center, with an area of 4,170 square meters, has a mini-football field, a basketball court, an outdoor gym, as well as playground equipment for the youngest.

Mayor Muzur emphasized that he is particularly proud of the fact and the way in which the new sports and recreation center was named, which will bear the name of one of the heroes of this Ilidža settlement from the beginning of the aggression against our country.



- I presented and explained the initiative of the residents of the Butmir Local Community, also supported by the Butmir Local Community Council, at the 27th Regular Session of the Municipal Council, and the proposal ultimately received unanimous support - recalled Mayor Muzur.

And while the works on the SRC "Emil Gavranović - Beban" are nearing completion, works on a similar project are in full swing in the Blažuj Local Community. Just like the children in Butmir, the children in Blažuj have also been lacking a quality and modern sports and recreation center.
