(Patria) - The Konjic-based giant Igman is no longer the leader of the domestic defense industry, meaning it is no longer the company with the highest revenue.

It has been dethroned by Pretis from Vogošća, reports BiznisInfo.ba.

BiznisInfo.ba has reported on several occasions that Igman's revenues have been declining in the last two years despite huge investments and very favorable market conditions.

At the same time, sales of almost all other domestic companies producing weapons or ammunition are growing.

In the first half of this year, Igman had total revenues of 39.2 million KM, compared to 48.2 million KM in the same period last year.

For the entire year 2022, the company achieved total revenues of 125 million KM, which is as much as 25 million KM less than the previous year when revenues were around 150 million KM.

On the other hand, revenues of other defense industry companies in BiH are growing.

Pretis from Vogošća had total revenues of 39.3 million KM in the first half of this year, making it the company with the highest revenues within the defense industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Igman had revenues from customer contracts amounting to 28 million KM, while Pretis had 39 million KM. Igman achieved a profit of 2.5 million KM, and Pretis as much as 8 million KM.

Some other companies have also come close to overtaking Igman.

As we previously reported, Pobjeda Technology Goražde (PTG) had total revenues of 36.6 million KM in the first half of this year, representing significant growth compared to 28.4 million KM in the first half of last year.

This means that the revenue difference between Igman and PTG has fallen to less than three million KM in 2023, while in the same period last year it was as much as 20 million KM. In just one year, the difference has been reduced by as much as 17 million KM. PTG is engaged in the production of sports, hunting, and industrial ammunition.

Another company from Goražde – Unis Ginex – has also come dangerously close, as it had revenues of 33.1 million KM in the first half of this year (in the same period last year, revenues were 28.5 million KM).

Therefore, in this case, the difference has been reduced by about 14 million KM, from about 20 million KM to about 6 million KM. Ginex, like Igman, is majority-owned by the Government of the Federation of BiH.
