Hota-Muminović: Strengthening ties between education and the labor market ensures a better future for young people and society as a whole

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Education Naida Hota-Muminović and Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton Zlatko Mijatović held a meeting today with the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Employers of Sarajevo Canton.

The aim of the meeting is to improve standards in the field of dual education and to launch an initiative to accelerate processes related to dual education in secondary and vocational education, as well as opportunities for retraining and upskilling of personnel.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Association of Employers of FBiH Mario Nenadić, the President of the Association of Employers of Sarajevo Canton Suad Ećo, the representative of the Business Education Center of UPFBiH Marijana Šećibović, and officials from the two relevant ministries.

- It is important for employers to participate in the processes of creating enrollment policies in secondary schools in Sarajevo Canton. This constructive cooperation between the Government of Sarajevo Canton and employers represents a step forward in strengthening the ties between education and the labor market, thereby ensuring a better future for young people and the entire society in Sarajevo Canton - stated Hota-Muminović.

At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that a working body will be formed to coordinate activities for the improvement of secondary vocational and technical education, and its members will include representatives from the Association of Employers of the Federation of BiH, the Association of Employers of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton, and the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton.
