(Patria) - Yesterday's visit to the village of Borci, located on the northeastern slopes of Prenj mountain, at about 700 meters above sea level, brought scenes of a true winter fairytale.
Under a blanket of snow, this region appears almost untouched, quiet, peaceful, and magnificent, renowned photographer Boris Trogrančić begins his story, after a new adventure in search of Bosnia and Herzegovina's beauties.
In this natural setting, Trogrančić says he also encountered numerous beautiful horses that, somewhat curiously, watched him as he captured shots of their winter daily life.
Their presence further emphasizes the feeling of freedom and coexistence between humans and nature, which is still strongly present here.
In the background, the frozen peaks of the mighty Prenj, Sivadija, Visina, and Osobac dominate, rising above the landscape like natural guardians of this area, Trogrančić recounts.
Prenj is one of the most impressive mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina, known for its steep cliffs, rugged karst, and peaks over 2,000 meters.
Due to its unique morphology and untouched nature, it is often called the Herzegovinian Himalayas.
Nearby is Boračko Lake, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was formed during the Ice Age through glacial processes and is located at the foot of Prenj, surrounded by steep slopes and dense forests.
Its emerald green water and natural surroundings make it an extremely significant natural and tourist gem of this region.
The snow, silence, and magnificent landscapes of Prenj and Borci remind us of the richness that Bosnia and Herzegovina possesses – wild, authentic nature that still defies time and man.
This is a place that is not just observed, but deeply experienced and remembered.
