Hadžihafizbegović named best actor at Cottbus film festival for the third time

(Patria) - Bosnian actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović won the Grand Prix for best actor in the Main Programme at the 35th Cottbus Film Festival for his leading role in the film "Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day" directed by Ivona Juka.

Along with this prestigious award, he received a monetary prize of 5,000 euros.

His performance in the aforementioned film was described by the jury as "brave in its uncertainty, powerful in its restraint, and unforgettable in its authenticity".

We remind you that this is the third time that actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović has been awarded at the Film Festival in the German city of Cottbus.

Previously, he was named best actor for the Croatian film "These Are the Rules" by Ognjen Sviličić and for the Slovenian film "Ćefuri Raus" by Goran Vojinović.

This year's festival features 130 films from 40 countries worldwide across several programme selections.

Director Ivona Juka received the Main Award of the 35th Cottbus Film Festival.

Her production BEAUTIFUL EVENING, BEAUTIFUL DAY won the main award worth 15,000 euros.

The film impressed the international festival jury with its brave approach to "untold stories, opening dialogue, honest reflection on old wounds, and brave consideration of paths forward".
