(Patria) - Crimson rosella parrots naturally live only in the area they come from - that is, southeastern Australia and Tasmania.
However, one such parrot lives in a grove on Pula's Gregovica. Not for long, though, only two weeks.
As Marko Račan, who lives near the forest where the bird found a home, tells Istra24, it is about Grego. That is the name given to it by the residents of the area, convinced that the bird has adapted to life in the wild.
It is curious, but if it needs to escape danger, it is very fast. Grego, namely, can get from one end of the grove to the other in just a few seconds.
To ensure it does not feel lonely, the wild wood pigeons, which have returned in large numbers to that forest after many years, have taken care of it.
Račan says that Grego has become a kind of sensation and mascot of the grove, and more and more people are coming to see this unusual resident of the Pula neighborhood.
Some already jokingly suggest that the data on Wikipedia should be updated and Gregovica added as a habitat for these charming parrots.
Experts, however, believe that the parrot will not survive long in the wild. They see predators, such as cats, as the greatest danger, and if Grego lasts until winter, they believe it could be fatal.
Of course, unless it lived in some outdoor aviary before coming to the grove, so it could get used to low temperatures.
Although it is an attraction for residents, it would be safest for Grego to return home.
