(Patria) - British musician Noel Gallagher's guitar, which he described in 1997 as the best in the world, was sold yesterday at auction for 226,800 pounds (271,000 euros).
The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, announced in August the reunion of their band Oasis and a tour for next summer.
The return of this famous 90s British pop band has generated huge enthusiasm among their fans.
Concert tickets were sold out, and their first album "Definitely Maybe", released 30 years ago, returned to the top of the sales charts in September.
The "Gibson Les Paul Florentine" guitar, which Noel Gallagher used to record Oasis's third album "Be Here Now", released in August 1997, was sold at auction.
According to the online auction house Propstore, the guitar was made for Noel Gallagher at Gibson's workshop in 1997.
- It's the best guitar in the world. Not one of the best, but the best - Gallagher told the media in 1997.
The band was founded in 1991 in Manchester, and broke up in 2009 due to constant arguments between the Gallagher brothers, who continued their careers separately, until the announcement of their reunion last summer.
